What type of flooring can you provide?

Empire flooring is Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) / SPC click vinyl flooring designed for residential and commercial indoor use. It features a realistic wood image and texture with a matte finish and UV surface coating. Empire Flooring and LED LIGHTS LTD.

What are the product specifications?

For the Standard Series (6.5mm):

  • Size: 182mm × 1220mm (7.16” × 48”)

  • Overall Thickness: 6.5mm

  • Attached Pad: 1.5mm

  • Wear Layer: 20mil

  • Installation Type: Click System (Floating Floor)

  • Surface Finish: Matte with UV coating

  • Material: Virgin material

  • Performance Classification: 34 (Commercial), 43 (Industrial)

Is the flooring waterproof?

Yes. The flooring is waterproof and will not warp, swell, or delaminate due to moisture under normal indoor conditions.

However, moisture problems in the subfloor must be addressed before installation.

Can this flooring be used for commercial applications?

Yes. It is suitable for:

  • Residential use

  • Commercial use

  • High-traffic areas (Class 34 / 43 rating)

What warranty does Empire provide?

Warranty depends on the series:

Standard Series (6.5mm):

  • 25 Years Residential Warranty

  • 10 Years Commercial Warranty

Premium Series (8.0mm):

  • 30 Years Residential Warranty

  • 15 Years Commercial Warranty

The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.

What does the warranty cover?

The warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing defects

  • Wear-through of the wear layer under normal use

  • Waterproof performance under normal indoor conditions

  • Stain resistance

  • Fade resistance under normal light exposure

What is NOT covered under warranty?

The warranty does not cover:

  • Improper installation

  • Subfloor issues or moisture problems

  • Scratches, dents, cuts, or abuse

  • Damage from heavy furniture or unprotected caster wheels

  • Pet damage

  • Fire, flooding, or natural disasters

  • Extreme temperature or humidity fluctuations

  • Installation or labor costs

  • Products installed with visible defects

  • Normal wear and color variations

What are the indoor climate requirements?

To maintain warranty validity:

  • Temperature must remain between 18°C and 25°C

  • Relative humidity must remain between 30% and 65%

Failure to maintain proper indoor conditions may void the warranty.

Does the flooring require acclimation before installation?

Yes. The unopened cartons must be acclimated in the installation area for 48 hours before installation.

Room temperature must be between 18°C–23°C (65°F–75°F) before, during, and after installation.

Is glue required for installation?

No. Empire click vinyl flooring uses a floating click-lock system and does not require glue.

Can it be installed over radiant heating?

Installation over radiant heating systems is not recommended and is not covered under warranty.

Can this flooring be installed over existing floors?

Yes, it can be installed over most hard surface flooring if:

  • The surface is smooth

  • The subfloor is structurally sound

  • Carpet and foam underlayment are removed

It should NOT be installed over carpet.

What expansion gap is required?

A 3/8” (10mm) expansion gap must be left around the perimeter of the room.

For areas larger than 27 feet in any direction, a T-molding break is required.

Failure to provide proper expansion space will void the warranty.

How flat must the subfloor be?

Subfloor variation must not exceed:

  • 1/16” per 3 feet (2mm per meter)

Uneven areas must be leveled before installation.

What moisture limits apply for concrete subfloors?

Concrete must:

  • Cure for at least 60 days

  • Have maximum moisture emission of 5 lbs / 1000 sq. ft. per 24 hours

Moisture testing must be performed before installation.

How should I maintain the flooring?

Do:

  • Clean spills immediately

  • Use vinyl-approved cleaners

  • Sweep and mop regularly

Do Not:

  • Use vinegar or abrasive cleaners

  • Use wax or solvent-based polish

  • Use vacuum with beater bar

  • Use highly abrasive scrubbing tools

Can furniture damage the floor?

To prevent damage:

  • Use felt pads under furniture legs

  • Use soft rubber wheels for chairs

  • Avoid dragging heavy objects

  • Use protective mats under rolling chairs

What happens if I discover a defect?

You must notify Empire within 30 days of discovering the issue.

Empire may:

  • Replace defective planks

  • Provide refund or credit (material cost only)

Labor and installation costs are not covered.

Can the flooring be used outdoors?

No. It is not suitable for:

  • Outdoor use

  • Sunrooms or solariums

  • Saunas

  • Non-temperature-controlled spaces

What certifications and performance standards does it meet?

The flooring meets multiple international standards including:

  • EN427 (Dimensions)

  • EN428 (Thickness)

  • EN660-2 Class T (Wear resistance)

  • EN13893 (Slip resistance – Class 2)

  • GB8624-2006 (Fire resistance Bf1-s1, T0)

  • TVOC emission qualification
